SWITCHES / CONTROLS
BRAKE SWITCH
Applying the brakes closes a switch to activate the brake
lamps. Use a multimeter to test for continuity when the
brakes are applied.
Replace the brake switch if function does not pass test.
IGNITION KEY SWITCH
1. Disconnect the key switch harness by lifting the
connector lock and pulling on the connector. Do not
pull on the wiring.
2. Test between the 3 sets of outputs (OFF / ON /
START). If any of the tests fail, replace ignition switch
assembly.
• Turn the ignition key to ON. There should be continuity
between switch pins B and C.
• Turn the ignition key to START. There should be
continuity between switch pins B and C; A and D.

IGNITION KEY SWITCH
(INTERNATIONAL MODELS)
1. Disconnect the key switch harness by lifting the
connector lock and pulling on the connector. Do not
pull on the wiring.
2. Test between the 4 sets of outputs (OFF / ON
LIGHTS / ON / START). If any of the tests fail, replace
ignition switch assembly.
• When the ignition key is OFF, there should be
continuity between switch pins E and F.
• Turn the ignition key to ON LIGHTS. There should be
continuity between switch pins C and D; A, E, and F.
• Turn the ignition key to ON. There should be continuity
between switch pins C and D; E and F.
• Turn the ignition key to START. There should be
continuity between switch pins A and B; C and D; E
and F.
