REAR GEARCASE
GEARCASE REMOVAL
1. Remove the rear bumper. See Rear Bumper
Removal page 11.17.
2. Remove the (2) lower hitch mounting bolts and
remove hitch from vehicle.
3. Locate the (2) exhaust springs

through the rear RH
wheel well. Remove springs and slide the exhaust out
the rear of the vehicle.
4. Remove the left rear upper A-arm fasteners to ensure
there is enough clearance to remove the weld mount
fasteners.
5. Remove the weld mount fasteners. Then, remove the
weld mount from vehicle.
6. Remove both rear drive shafts from the gearcase.
IMPORTANT
Before you remove the rear propshaft from the vehicle,
add a mark on the rear propshaft flange.
