EPS UNIT REMOVAL
1. Remove the front rack / storage box, front cover, and
front cab.
2. Remove the seat, both front mud guards and side
panels, and the RH footwell.
3. Remove the front right wheel.
4. Remove the fuel tank. See “Fuel Tank Removal”.
5. Remove the (2) pinch bolts and nuts retaining the
upper steering post to the EPS unit.
6. Disconnect the (2) electrical harnesses from the EPS
unit.
7. Remove the (2) fasteners retaining the bushing strap
bracket

IMPORTANT
Before you disengage the upper steering post from the
EPS unit, add a mark on the upper power steering
shaft. This mark should align with the mark on the
upper steering post.
8. Carefully lift the upper steering post up from the EPS
unit.
9. Remove the lower steering post pinch bolt and nut.
