Note:Continueduseofthestarterwillnotonly
dischargethebattery,butmaydamagethestarter
motor,starterringgearorcatalyticconverter.
Note:Intheinterestoffueleconomy,itisadvisable
todrivethevehicleassoonaspossibleafterstarting.
Rememberthatharshacceleration,orlabouringthe
enginebeforethenormaloperationaltemperaturehas
beenreached,candamagetheengine.
DONOTpresstheacceleratorpedalwhilestartingand
DONOToperatethestarterformorethan15secondsat
atime.Iftheenginefailstostart,removethehandsetand
waitatleast10secondsbeforetryingagain.
Ifthehandsetisnotrecognisedbytheengine
immobilisationsystemwhenitisinsertedintothedocking
station,theenginewillbedisabled,and‘EngineDisabled’
withanwarningiconwillappearinthemessagecentre
(seeMessageCentreinInstrumentsandControls
chapter).
IMPORTANT
•Ifyoutrytostartconsecutivelyfor3timesand
it’sfailed,pleaseaskforhelp.Ifyoutrytostart
consecutively,youmustwaitforatleast10minutes
tomakesuretheenginehascooledandthebattery
hasrestored.Otherwiseitwilldamagetheengine
andbattery.
•DonotkeepthedockingstationatPositionⅠor
PositionⅡforalongtimewhiletheenginestops,
whichmaydischargethebatteryduetotheuseof
electricalequipment.
•Y ourcaristtedwithengineimmobilisationsystem.
Anyhandsetmadeprivatelycannotstarttheengine.
•Y ourcariscontrolledbyelectroniccontrol
systems.Ifthereareelectromagneticwavearound
oranydevicesstuckonyourcarcangenerate
electromagneticwaveWhenstartingtheengine,it
maycausetheelectroniccontrolsystemsofyour
carbeingaccidentalactivated.
