vehicletoasafeareaonthepremisesof
self-securityandcompliancewithlocaltrafc
regulations.
T ransmissionOverheating
Forfrequentstartingunderhotweatherortransmission
isoverload,thetransmissionislikelytobecomevery
hot.T oavoiddamage,thetransmissionwillexecute
theoverheatingprotection,whilstthewarningindicator
andawarningmessageof'GearboxOverHeat'are
displayedinthemessagecentrefollowedby1warning
sound,thewarningmessagedisappears3secondslater
andthewarningindicatorcontinuestobedisplayed.
Inthiscase,stopvehicleandkeepengineidlingorkeep
drivinginonexedgearatconstantspeedtocoolthe
transmission.NEVERstartorshiftuntilthetransmission
temperaturedecreasesandthemessagecentrenolonger
displaysthetransmissionoverheatingwarningindicatoror
message.
IMPORTANT
Whenthetransmissionisinoverheatingprotection
period,toavoidtransmissiondamage,theshiftshock
willbeobvious,butthisphenomenonwilldisappear
untilthetransmissiontemperatureisrestoredto
normal.
Afterthewarningindicator
appearsinthe
messagecentre,ifyoucontinuetostartorshift,
overheatingwillbedeteriorated.Thesystem
willforciblydisconnectthepowerfromengineto
transmissionuntilbothwarningindicator
and
geardisplay'EP'appearinthemessagecentre,at
thistime,thevehiclecannotbedriven!MUSTstop
vehicleimmediately,keepengineidlingtocoolthe
transmission.
Afterthetransmissioniscorrectlycooledforalongtime
(approx20minutes),iftheabovewarningindicatorstill
doesnotgoout,pleasecontactMGAuthorisedRepairer
forserviceassoonaspossible,otherwiseitmayseriously
damagethetransmission.
