recommendthatyoureadthischaptercarefully,
understandthealarmsystemisenabledandrelease
methodfully.
EngineImmobilisation
Engineimmobilisationisanimportantaspectofthesecurity
system,itisdesignedtosafeguardthevehiclefromtheft,
bypreventingtheenginefrombeingstartedunlessthe
GENUINEhandsetisinsertedintothedockingstation.
Theenginewillberemobilisedautomaticallywhenevera
genuinehandsetisinsertedintothedockingstation.
Ifthehandsetisnotrecognisedbytheengine
immobilisationsystemwhenitisinsertedintothedocking
station,theenginewillbedisabledandEngineDisabled
willappearinthemessagecentre.
LockingtheCarandArmingtheAlarm
Lock
1Closethedoors,bonnetandboot/tailgate.
2Pressthelockbuttononcetoarmthealarm(protects
thedoors,bonnetandboot/tailgate).
3Thedirectionindicatorlightsashthreetimesto
conrmthatthecarissecurelylockedandthe
anti-theftalarmindicatorlight(intheinstrument
pack)startstoash.
Mislock
Ifthedriver'sdoorisnotfullyclosedwhenthehandset
lockbuttonispressed,thevehiclehornwillsoundonce,
indicatingamislock.Inthiscase,noneofthedoorswill
lock,thealarmsystemwillnotbearmedandthedirection
indicatorlightswillnotash.
Ifapassengerdoor,bonnetortheboot/tailgateisnotfully
closedwhenthehandsetlockbuttonispressed,thevehicle
hornwillsoundonce,indicatingamislock.
However,the‘partialarming’attributesofthesecurity
systemwillenableasmuchofthesystemtobearmed
