Display – malfunction messages (A-Z)
System / component Possible cause Remedy
Selection locked

Connection to CCI present, accounting
system not ready.
The fault is on the accounting system or
in the CCI.
Selection locked
outlet missing
 The limit switch is not in the correct
position (screw loose)
 Limit switch to milk foamer head is
faulty
 Check if the door operating pin is
able to actuate the button roller; fas-
ten the switch into the correct posi-
tion.
 Electrical check: see “Control system
diagram, foamer head limit switch
heating coffee
This message is displayed while the
instant heater is heating and it is not
possible to serve any coffee. After 4
minutes a “heating timeout” message is
displayed if the temperature is not rea-
ched.
 Faulty heating
 Faulty temperature sensor
 Message appears frequently with an
ongoing serving
 Check heating (see control system
diagram, heating, instant heater cof-
fee, 3 kW)
 Check temperature sensor (see
“control system diagram, tempera-
ture sensor, coffee”)
 1. Measure power voltage exactly

heating steam
This message is displayed while the
steam generator is heating and it is not
possible to serve any steam. After 8
minutes a “timeout heat steam” messa-
ge is displayed if the temperature is not
reached.

heating tea
This message is displayed while the
instant heater is heating, and it is not
possible to serve any tea. After 4 minu-
tes a “timeout heater tea” message is
displayed if the temperature is not rea-
ched.

battery flat
The battery in the unit control system is
defective, or has reached the end of its
service life.
Replace the unit control system (do not
recharge or replace the battery)!
**EEPROM error!
EEPROM write error Replace the EEPROM or the unit control
system.

flowmeter defect
 Flowmeter defect (this message
refers to the flow in general. It could
be caused by any of the water sup-
ply, pump, flowmeter, or pump etc.)
 Carry out a flowmeter check (see
“Functional descriptions, flowmeter”).
If there is no result examine the wa-
ter circuit from the beginning (espe-
cially baffles, pump pressure etc.).

 Electrical check: see “Control system
diagram, flowmeter”
Selection locked
heating timeout
 Temperature not reached after 4
minutes (except for first-time heating
(10 minutes).
 The coffee instant heater is faulty.
 Safety thermostat has triggered
 Electrical check: see “control system
diagram, heating, instant heater cof-
fee”
 Carry out relay test, temperature
sensor test.
 Replace the instant heater: see
“Dismantling components, instant
heater, coffee”
 Search for the reason it triggered,
then reset the safety thermostat.
