Piston Removal

Remove the cylinder block (see Cylinder Removal).

Place a piece of clean cloth under the piston and
remove the piston pin snap rings

outside of the piston.

Remove the piston pin

Remove the piston
◆
Carefully spread the ring opening with your thumbs
and then push up on the opposite side of the ring

to remove it.
◆
Remove the 3-piece oil ring with your thumbs in the
same manner.

CAUTION
CAUTION
Do not reuse snap rings, as removal weakens and
deforms them. They could fall out and score the cylinder
wall.
