Insert the Shift Forks into the groove of the Countershaft

Visually inspect the shift fork.
If the fork is bent, replace the shift rod with a new one.
A bent fork could cause diffi culty in shifting, or allow the
transmission to jump out of gear when under power.

Measure the thickness of the shift fork ears

of the gear groove and
shifter.
If the thickness of a shift fork ear is less than the
servicelimit, the shift rod must be replaced.
Shift Fork Ear Thickness
Standard: 5.8 ~ 5.9 mm
Service Limit: 5.7 mm
If the groove is worn over the service limit, the shifter
must be replaced
Shifter Groove Width
Standard: 6.0 ~ 6.1 mm
Service Limit: 6.2 mm
