COM 1 Serial Port Warning and Cautions
WARNING! DANGER OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
The serial port is not isolated. The SG (signal ground) and the FG
(frame ground) terminals are connected inside the unit. When using the
SG terminal to connect an external device to the unit:
• Verify that a short-circuit loop is not created when you set up the system.
• Connect the #5 SG terminal to remote equipment when the host (PLC) unit is not
isolated. Connect the #5 SG terminal to a known reliable ground connection to
reduce the risk of damaging the RS485 circuit.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in death or serious injury.

Le port série n'est pas isolé. Le retour commun du signal et de la
masse du châssis sont branchés dans l'unité. Lorsque vous utilisez le
retour commun du signal pour brancher un pareil externe dans l'unité:
• Vérifiez que la boucle de court-circuit n'est pas créée lorsque vous mettrez en place
le système.
• Branchez la borne no 5 SG pour utiliser l'équipement à distance lorsque que l'unité
hôte (PLC) n'est pas isolée. Branchez la borne no 5 SG dans un branchement de
mise à terre connue pour réduire le risque d'endommagement du circuit RS485.
Le non-respect de ces instructions peut provoquer la mort et des blessures
graves.
CAUTION: LOSS OF COMMUNICATION
• All connections to the communication ports must not put excessive
stress on the ports.
• Securely attach communication cables to the panel or cabinet.

age.
