• Brick/concrete duct
In ducts other than steel ducts, an additional holding plate with a suitable opening for
welding the flange with tube into position must be provided.

• Using the angle flange for the zero-point measurement
If you want to use the angle flange for the zero-point measurement (order no.
2 017 833), make sure that the SR unit with mounted measuring probe can be attached
properly to the duct using the angle flange. Obstacles in the vicinity of the flange with tube,
such as protruding duct insulation, or other parts attached to the duct, must be avoided.
A longer flange with tube, or an angle flange with spacer (to be provided by the customer)
may be required to ensure that the distance from the duct wall is sufficient.
Mounting the flange with tube
The safety instructions on Page page 24 must be observed at all times.
‡ Carefully mark the center points of the flange on the duct wall.
‡ Brick/concrete duct: cut out an opening on the duct that is approx. 2 cm larger than the
outside diameter of the flange tube; allow for a slight downward inclination of the flange
of approx. 1°. Provide a suitable holding plate (see Fig. 9page 25).
‡ Cut out an opening matching the external diameter of the flange tube (standard
Ø
a
= 133 mm)
‡ Insert the flange tube with the marking ▲ pointing exactly in the direction of the gas flow
(see Fig. 7page 23). Tilt the tube downwards slightly in the duct (approx. 1°, see Fig. 7)
to prevent condensate buildup between the tube and probe. Secure the flange in position
provisionally
‡ Weld on the flange tube
‡ Weld on junction plates for reinforcement, if possible; see Fig. 8 and Fig. 9page 25.
‡ Brick/concrete duct: secure the holding plate with welded flange with tube on the duct as
shown in Fig. 9.
