8.6.3 Resuming measuring mode
‡ Purge the filter box with clean gas.
On the evaluation unit: ‡ Exit "Box measuring" mode by pressing the back key.
‡ Remove the filter box along with the plate and reflector from the SR unit and store it in a
safe place.
‡ Reinstall the SR unit correctly at the measuring point.
8.7 Filter box measurement for checking the gas ducts of H

O and
CO
2
The gas filter box is used for checking the H
2
O and CO
2
measurement channel of the GM35
for very high concentrations). The gas filter box measurement is based on the llght absorp-
tion of grid filters (readout of measured extinction).
Prerequisites
Required components
• RMF grid filter box
• Filter box adapter plate with cut-out Chapter for the humidity sensor (front of the SR unit)
Note The display of the measuring values is performed as extinction for both measuring channels
(H
2
O, CO
2
).
8.7.1 Set values
The grid filters inside the RMF filter box are calibrated. The set values for the individual filters
are shown on the lable of the housing. Filters with extinction values up to 0.8 are used, which
are suitable to the application range of the GM35. Higher extinction values exceed the warn-
ing and malfunction treshold for not sufficient signal level.
8.7.2 Carrying out the measurement
‡ Open the SR unit and swing it to the side.
‡ Attach the filter box with the adapter plate to the SR unit and secure using quick-release
locks. Take care not to damage the humidity sensor of the SR unit.
‡ Install the reflector and set up the position “GM35“on the lever.
