2.9 Disposal and recycling
Your system is designed to last. Its expansion options and above all its quality
guarantee that it will have a long life.
Nonetheless there will come a time when you need to replace your computer with a
newer model and dispose of the old machine. Here, too, our company can offer you
assistance.
At Siemens Nixdorf, recycling of old computer equipment is a long-standing
tradition: we have been reclaiming and recycling decommissioned computer
systems for over ten years.
Even at the design stage we place particular emphasis on the reusability of
materials. For example, all sizable computer parts made of synthetic materials are
clearly marked to indicate their constituents so as to simplify subsequent recycling.
Wherever possible, your computer system has been built using materials which can
be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner and can be properly recycled.
Siemens Nixdorf Informationssysteme AG will be happy to take back equipment that
you no longer need.
