3.2 Certification
The safety functions of the SINAMICS drive system meet the following requirements:
● Category 3 to EN ISO 13849-1.
● Performance Level (PL) d to EN ISO 13849-1.
● Safety integrity level 2 (SIL 2) to IEC 61508.
In addition, most of the SINAMICS safety functions have been certified by independent
institutes. An up-to-date list of certified components is available on request from your local
Siemens office.
