In most places there are two high and two low tides per
day. The heights of the high tides, or the low tides, may
not be the same. The height of the tide varies with the
time of year.
/BJECTNAME MINA AL AHMADI
is the location name of the Tide station.
4IMEZONE
indicates that the local time is 3 hours less than the
standard time in London (GMT).
$ATE
is the actual date for the information in the display.
The vertical cursor indicates actual time and is placed
between the last and the next high/low tide indication.
F The 24-hour time schedule will always run from the
last high/low tide indication and 24 hours ahead, it
does not follow morning till night.
#AUTION
The tide information system is quite accurate.
However, the predictions are subject to variables,
which, like the weather, are beyond the control of man.
The tide predictions are based on normal weather con-
ditions. Hurricanes and strong winds will often have a
strong influence on the water level, which can vary sev-
eral meters.
Changes in a coast line, either due to natural erosion,
major storms or larger man-made constructions, like
breakwaters or dredged kanals, can also have influence
on the local tide situation.
