Software version is displayed in the header of the Installation dialogue. To upgrade
echosounder software (see “Upgrading Module Firmware” on page 55)
Water speed averaging
Dampens the water speed by averaging over the selected time interval. The higher the
setting, the less the more consistent the displayed value will appear to be.
Calibration range: 1-30 seconds. Default is 1 second.
Water temperature calibration
Temperature calibration is used to adjust the water temperature value from the echo
sounder transducer to match the data from another temperature sensor.
If the vessel is fitted with an LSS-1 as well as a BSM-1 or BSM-2 with a temperature
sensing transducer, then the water temperature calibration option will be shown for both
modules.
Calibration range: -9.9° - +9.9°. Default is 0°.

Transducer type
Transducer type is used for selecting the transducer model connected to the
echosounder module. In some transducers with built-in temperature sensors, the
temperature may not be correct if the correct transducer is not selected from the
transducer type menu. The BSM-2 allows selection of two transducers, one for the
high frequency band, and one for the low frequency band. These may be two individual
transducers, or a single transducer with seperate cabling for each set of elements ie the
Airmar R299. Refer to the BSM-2 Installation Guide for further details.
For BSM-1(see “Compatible BSM-1 Transducers” on page 77).
For BSM-2 compatible transducers, refer to the BSM-2 Broadband Sounder Module
manual.
Other depth sources such as NMEA 2000 smart transducers, will have their own
calibration.
