Depending on the model of snowm obile that you own, your vehicle
maycomewithanIceSeriespre-studdedtrack,atrackforwhichthe
manufacturer permits the installation of studs or a track for w hich the
man ufa cturer for bid s i t.
Tracks appro ve d for the installatio n of studs have a stud symbol (see
illustrat ion) molded into the track surface, and tracks not approved
bear a forbidden stud symbol (see illustration).
Before pro ceedi ng wi th th e installa tio n of studs on track s for which
it is allowed, you must first acquaint yourself with the safety instruc-
tions rel ate d to the s tudding of tracks, fou nd in the sectio n entitled
TRACTION ENHA NCING PR ODUCTS in the SAFETY INFORMATION
section at the beginning of this guide. This section also provides oth-
er important information that you must consider before having studs
installed on a track.
