TRACTION EN HANCING PR ODUCTS

factory ins talled p re-stu dded Ice Serie s track or a tra ck that as be en
approved by BRP for studs installation.
Using more positive car bide ski runners and traction enhancing prod-
ucts ( Ic e Serie s tra cks o r appro ved s tudded tracks ) on your s nowmo-
bile will change its behavior, particularly in terms of manoe uvrability,
acceleration, and braking.
Using tr action enhancing products gives a bett er grip on packed
snow and ice, but has no noticeable effect on soft snow. For this
reason, driving a snowmobile equipped with traction en hancing
products ( Ice Series tracks, approved studded tracks, carb ide ski
runners) requir es a certain adaptation period. If your snowmobile is
equipped with tract ion enhancing products, be sure to take plenty of
tim e to get used to the way it ha ndles when turn in g, acc el erating,
and braking.
Al so, al way s check local regulatio ns concern ing the use of tracti on
enhancing products on snowmobiles. Always drive your snowm o-
bile in a responsible manner, respecting the environment and other
people’s property.
Man oeuvrabili ty
Using t raction enhanci ng products makes the snowmobile grip the
ground bett er at the rear. The use of carbide runners is t herefor e
re quire d to give the skis a better gri p, so that the fro nt an d rear of the
snowmobile are in balance. While o ff-the-sh elf carbide ski runners
are adequate, they don’t necessarily give you optimal control, since
that depends on your personal preferences, your riding style, and
how your suspension is set.
WARNING
If the front and rear of the snowmobile are out of balance due
to an incorrect co mbination of tra ctio n enhancing pro ducts
and ru nners, the s now mobile may tend to ov erste er or under-
steer, which could lead to a loss of con tr ol.
