Warm Engin e Startin g
Start the engine without any choke. If the engine will not start af -
te r two pull s of the rope or two 5 second attempts with th e electric
startermovechokelevertoposition2. Starttheenginewithoutac-
tiva tin g th e th rottl e lever. As so on as the engine sta rts move the
choke lever to OFF.

Manu al Starting
• Grab manua l starter ha ndle, pu ll hand le s lo wly un til a resista nce
is felt , then hold handle firmly and pull vigorously to start engine.
El ectric Starti ng (if so equipped)
WARNING
Never depress throttle while starting engine.
CAUTION: Do not us e electric st arte r for more than 1 0 sec onds.
A rest period sho uld be observed between the cranking cycles to
let ele ctric s tart er cool down. Using electric s tarter when e ngine
has started could damage electric starter m echanism.
Fan Cooled Models
• Turn key clockwise until starter engages.
• Release key immediately w hen engin e has started.
N O TE: If for any reason, the engine cannot be cranked elect rically,
leave ignition key to ON position and start engine manually using the
re wind starter.
Liquid Coole d Mode ls
• Depress in g the START/RER button wi ll engag e the electric sta rter
and start the engi ne.
• Release button im mediately when engine has started.
N O TE: If for any reason, the engine cannot be cranked elect rically,
start engine manually using the rewind starter.
Vehicle Warm-Up
Before ev ery ride, vehic le has to be wa rmed up as fol lows.
Snow mobile must be securely supported by the r ear bumper using
a wide-base snow mobile m echanical stand. Track must be 100 mm
(4 in) off the ground.
