MANUAL START/ELECTRIC START MODELS

Manual Sta rtin g
To start the engine, first turn t he key to ON position then, pull rewind
starter grip. To s top the engin e, turn the key to O FF po si tion.
Electric Starting
To start engine, turn key to START position and hold until engine has
started. S ee illustration above.
CAUTION: Do not us e electric st arte r for more than 1 0 sec onds.
A rest period sho uld be observed between the cranking cycles to
let ele ctric s tart er cool down. Using electric s tarter when e ngine
has started could damage electric starter m echanism.
Rele as e k ey as s oon a s the engi ne starts . Key returns to ON pos iti on
as soon as it is released.
If engine does not start on first try, turn key back to OFF position and
w ai t a few seconds before restartin g. To stop engi ne, turn key to
OFF position .
N O TE: Engi ne may b e manual ly starte d with rewin d starter if nece s-
sary.
If starter does not operate, check starting system fuse condition.
