GENERAL
Wildlife compliments your snowmobiling day. Snowmobile tracks
provide firm ground over which animals can travel from area to area.
Do not violate this privilege by chas ing or harassing wildlife. Fat igue
and exhaustio n can lead to animal' s death. Avoid areas posted for
th e p rotection or fee di ng of wil dl ife .
Ifyouhappentobefortunateenoughtoseeananimal,stopyour
snowmobile and observe quietly.
The guidelines that we support are not designed to limit your snow-
mobiling fun, but to preserve the beautiful freedom that you can ex-
perience only on a snowmobile! These guidelines will keep snow-
mobilers healthy, happy and able to introduce others to what they
know and enjoy about their favorite winter pastim e. So, the next
time you hit the trails on a co ol, crisp and clear winter day, we ask
you to remember that you are paving the way f or the future of our
sport. Help u s lead it dow n th e right path! F rom all of us at BRP,
thank you for doing your share.
There is nothing mor e exhilarating than snowmobiling. Venturing on-
to snow mob ile trail s that cri ss-cross the wild area s of the U.S. and
Canada i s an exciting and healthy winter sport. H owever, as the
num ber of people using these recreational parks increases, so does
the potential for damage to the environment. Abuse o f land, facil-
ities a nd resources inevitably l ea ds to restrictions and closures of
both private and public land.
In essence, the greatest threat to our sport, is all around us. Which
leaves us with one logical choice. W hen we snowmobile, we m ust
alw ays r ide responsibly.
The vast majority respect the law and the environment. Each of us
must set an e xam ple for those who ar e new to the sport, young and
old alike.
It is in every one's best interest to tread lightly into our recreational
areas. Because, in the long run, to p rotect the sport we must pre-
serve the environment.
Recognizing the importance of this issue and the need for snowmo-
bilers to do their share in preser ving areas that make it possible to
enjoy our spor t, BRP has developed the “Light Treading Is Smart
Sledding campaign for snowmobile rs.
