Rid ing Pos ition
Your riding position and balance are the two basic principles of mak-
ingyoursnowmobilegowhereyouwantitto. Whenturningonthe
side of a hill, you and your passenger m ust be ready to shift body
weight to help it turn in the desired direction. Driver and passen-
ger(s) must never attempt this maneuvering by placing feet outside
of the vehicle. E xperience will teach you how much lean to put into
tu rns at different s peed s and h ow much you w ill have to lean into a
slopetomaintainproperbalance.
Generally, the riding position for best balance and control is sitting.
However, the posting, kneeling or standing positions are also used
under certain conditions.
The novice driver should become familiar with the snowmobile
th rough prac tic e on a lev el area at s lo w speeds before venturi ng
afield.
