On these m odels, the tether cord cap is digitally encoded to provide
you and your snowm obile with the equivalent security of a conven-
tional lock key and its shuts off the engine preventing snowmobile
to runa way if the operator falls off the v ehicle accid ently.
The t ether cord provided with your snowmobile contains an electr on-
ic chip in its cap which features a unique permanently memorized
digital code. Your authorized SKI-DOO dealer programs this tether
cord in the ECM (Engine Control Module) of your snowmobile to al-
low engine operation above 3000 RPM if and only if this unique code
has been read after engine starting.
If another tether cord is installed, the engine will start but will not
reach drive pulley engagement speed to m ove vehicle.
Make sure the teth er cord cap is fre e of dirt or snow.
