15.5 Setting SMAGridGuard Mode
When the inverters are delivered, the SMAGridGuard parameters have a default setting
depending on the country. Changes to the SMAGridGuard parameters must always be agreed
upon with the grid operator and are recorded in the event logs of the inverters. To change
SMAGridGuard parameters, the SMAGridGuard mode must be activated on the
ClusterController user interface. For this purpose, you require a personal SMAGridGuard code.
You can request your personal SMAGridGuard code from SMA Solar Technology AG
(application for the SMA GridGuard code available at www.SMA-Solar.com).
Requirements:
☐ The responsible grid operator must approve changes to grid-relevant parameters.
☐ The SMAGridGuard code for changing the grid-relevant parameters must be available
(application for the SMAGridGuard code available at www.SMA-Solar.com).
Procedure:
1. Log into the ClusterController as Installer.
2. Select the SMAGridGuard symbol ( ) in the status bar.
☑ The SMAGridGuard dialog window opens.
3. Set the SMAGridGuard mode:
• To activate the SMAGridGuard mode, enter the personal SMAGridGuard code in
field Individual access code.
• To deactivate the SMAGridGuard mode, enter the blocking code 54321 in field
Individual access code.
4. Select [OK].
☑ The SMAGridGuard mode is set. In the system tree, updating the symbols for access rights
(SMAGridGuard symbol and padlock symbol) can take up to two minutes.
