MAINTENANCE MANUAL STEMME S12
6.3 DETERMINATION OF EMPTY WEIGHT AND CORRESPONDING
CENTER OF GRAVITY; WEIGHT LIMITS
This section provides procedures to determine aircraft empty weight, component weights and CG
at empty weight and the certied weight and CG limits. To perform the inspection, the STEMME
form Weight and Balance Report (form according to Annex D) should be used.
The list of equipment on which weighing was based must be entered in the weight and balance
report and must correspond to the list in the inspection report. Any inspection documentation
can be found in Annex C of this S12 Aircraft Maintenance Manual.
CAUTION
Amended data of empty weight and CG position must be entered in the Report of Empty Weight
and CG-Location in section 6.3 of the S12 Aircraft Flight Manual and conrmed by authorized
personnel before operating the motorglider.
In addition, the placard on center console in the cockpit must be corrected accordingly.
DEFINITIONS
The reference plane (RP) is located at the leading edge of the inner wing at the wing root. It is
aligned vertically to the longitudinal-axis. This plane creates a reference line on the ground.
Longitudinal inclination: Place a wedge 1000:54 (3. 1° = 3°06‘) on the rear fuselage-section. Align
the top of the wedge horizontally. Keep in mind that the lateral axis must be almost horizontal
