5 Maintenance
Maintenance schedule
– Check the steering motor bearings for
operating noise; replace the bearings if
necessary.
Brake system
– Check that the foot switch is wo
rking
correctly.
– Check that the reverse brake is working
correctly.
– Check the thickness and condition of the
brake lining; replace the brake lining if
necessary.
– Check the brake clearance;
adjust if neces-
sary (0.4 - 1.0 mm).
– Blow out the brake lining with oil-free
compressed air (caution: abrasion debris is
hazardous to your health; use a protective
mask).
– Check the brake retardation values after
each adjustment (dynometer).
– Check that the automati
c braking mech-
anism* is working corre
ctly. Observe the
functional descriptio
n for the order.
– Check that the inductive transmitter* is
working correctly.
– Clean the photo eyes/light barriers and
check they are working correctly.
Undercarriage
– Check the condition and ease of movement
of the doors, lids and cover.
– Check the function and condition of the rail
switches*.
– Visually check the ov
erhead guard.
– Visually check all safety-related welded
seams. If in doubt, check the welded seams
by carrying out a colour penetration test.
