1D-61 Engine Mechanical:
Crankshaft Oil Seal Inspection

Check the oil seal for damage. If any damage is found,
replace the oil seal with a new one. Refer to “Engine
Bottom Side Disassembly (Page 1D-45)” and “Bearing
Removal and Installation (Page 1D-61)”.
Bearing Inspection

Refer to “Engine Bottom Side Disassembly (Page 1D-
45)”.
Rotate the bearing inner race by finger to inspect for
abnormal play, noise and smooth rotation while the
bearings are in the crankcase. Replace the bearing if
there is anything unusual.

1) Remove the each bearing retainers.
2) Remove the drive shaft bearing (1) with the special
tool.
