System Security
The DNX provides system security by utilizing four different user-access levels. These are as
follows:
•
Admin - The highest level of access. Users at this level can access all DNX functions and
can add/remove users from the system. The Admin-level user is not able to view another
user’s password, but can delete and add new passwords in the event a user has forgotten
his password.
•
Provision - Users at this level can make configuration changes, run diagnostic tests, and
do everything that an Admin-level user can do except add/delete users, change passwords,
or download software.
•
Test - Users at this level have all of the privileges of a View Only user, plus the ability to
perform testing such as initiating/terminating BERT tests and loopbacks, clearing
performance registers, etc.
•
View Only - Users at this level can view some system settings, options, and alarm
information but cannot change any settings.
Refer to the DNX-11/-4 Reference and User’s Guide or DNX-88 Reference and User’s Guide
for a full description of system security levels.
