Prior to Installation
Inspect Shipment
Sycamore Networks equipment is shipped in cardboard cartons with foam inserts to protect the
units from shock and vibration during shipment. All products are shipped in separate shipping
cartons, unless instructed otherwise.
To Inspect Equipment:
• Inspect the condition of all boxes.
• Compare all items to the packing list.
• Notify Sycamore Networks and the carrier immediately if there are any damages or
shortages.
• Store the cartons and packing material in case the unit has to be transported at a later date.
ESD CAUTION
DNX system components contain electrostatic-sensitive circuits.
Before handling DNX components, wear an anti-static wrist
strap connected to frame ground to prevent damage to circuits
from electrostatic discharge.
