Overview

The Technogym Run is a treadmill designed for both active and passive training, offering a comprehensive fitness experience. This technical service guide provides detailed information for qualified personnel on its operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description:

The Technogym Run supports two primary training modes:

  • Active Training (Standard): This mode simulates traditional treadmill running, where an electromechanical system (motor, drive, and motion transmission) moves the running surface at a constant speed.
  • Passive Training: In this mode, the drive controls the motor to provide a resistant torque that opposes the user's action, similar to an electromagnetic brake found in passive equipment. This allows for a different type of workout focusing on resistance.

The equipment features a gradient motor that adjusts the incline from 0% to 15%, providing varied training intensity. Speed can be adjusted from 0.2 to 25 Km/h (1.2 to 18.6 mph). User interaction is facilitated through two joysticks for gradient and speed adjustments, and a central stop button for controlled exercise termination. An emergency stop device is also included for immediate cessation of movement.

The system is managed by a "Low Kit" (STIWI drive) and a "High Kit" (display). The STIWI drive receives power, supplies power to other electronic devices, controls the belt motor, limit microswitch, gradient motor, and braking resistance, and communicates with the High Kit. The High Kit, featuring a Technogym Live 27” display, receives power from the STIWI drive, communicates training profiles, receives user absence information, and manages signals from the stop and emergency buttons.

Usage Features:

The Technogym Run is designed for ease of use and safety.

  • Display (High Kit): The Technogym Live 27” display serves as the user interface, managed by a CPU board with a middleboard (controls equipment operation) and a main processor (manages multimedia and user interface). It includes LAN, touch screen controller, USB port, HDMI in, LCD panel, display backlight, headphone jack, Bluetooth module, WiFi module, and NFC - ANT+ - Bluetooth board.
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.0 allows for logging into the machine and interfacing with smartphones via NFC technology. The NFC board also contains an authentication coprocessor chip for Apple Gymkit devices and reads MyWellness Bands.
  • Emergency Controls: The machine features a central stop button for controlled stops and an emergency stop device for immediate cessation of movement. Users are warned that activating the emergency stop at an incline will result in the belt turning freely without braking, potentially causing unintended acceleration.
  • Power Management: The switch box houses the power supply input socket, ON/OFF button, two circuit breakers, and a filter board to reduce emissions. A back-up battery on the CPU board powers the internal clock when the equipment is off.
  • Speakers: Equipped with left and right speakers, with volume adjustable via a touch button on the display.

Maintenance Features:

The technical service guide outlines detailed procedures for maintenance and troubleshooting, intended for qualified technical personnel.

  • General Regulations: Emphasizes checking serial numbers, marking parts for reassembly, using original Technogym spare parts and lubricants, using special tools, and consulting technical newsletters.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Technicians must refer to the Health&Safety After Sales procedure.
  • Component Replacement: Detailed procedures are provided for replacing the display, drive (Low Kit), belt motor, and complete tread belt (belts/slats). These procedures often involve specific tools and torque settings.
  • Belt Tensioning: Instructions for loosening and tensioning the tread belt, including maintaining roller parallelism and specific gap requirements between the belt and front bearing.
  • Troubleshooting & Configuration: A comprehensive list of drive error codes (e.g., OVER-TEMPERATURE, UNDER-VOLTAGE, SERIAL TIMEOUT, EEPROM, DC MOTOR ENCODER, AC MOTOR ENCODER, INVERTER OVERLOAD, SMPS ALARM, PHASE LOSS, LOSS OF IMPULSE, MOVEMENT OF THE RUNNING SURFACE DURING THE HOLD PHASE, ACCELERATION OF THE RUNNING SURFACE DURING THE HOLD PHASE, WATCHDOG ERROR, SHORT CIRCUIT, OVER-TEMPERATURE SENSOR) with corresponding solutions.
  • SW and FW Upgrade: Procedures for updating software and firmware via USB stick, including accessing service menus and performing factory resets. Remote updates via Geocall are also recommended.
  • Equipment Testing: After any technical intervention, technicians must perform standard operating tests to ensure the equipment's gradient, speed, peripheral devices, and cable integrity function correctly.
  • Planned Maintenance: Differentiates between routine maintenance (owner responsibility, no technical expertise required) and major maintenance (performed only by qualified Technicians, requiring specialized training and adherence to maintenance agreements).
  • Wiring Diagrams and Cable Information: Provides detailed wiring diagrams and cable codes, including pin-out information and acronyms for easy identification and troubleshooting.
  • Tightening Torques: Specifies torque values for various components such as side footrest guards, slats, belt motor, right rear pulley, and flange bearing, often requiring Loctite application.
  • Equipment Levelling: Instructions for adjusting the feet to ensure the product is level for proper operation.
