Fuse Holder
Contains
the instrument
line fuse.

Cord
Connector
Connects
the
detachable power
cord
to the instrument.

POWER
Turns
the
instrument
on and off. Pull
to
turn
on; push
to
turn
off.
5 ON
Indicator
Indicates
when
power is applied
to the instrument;
flashes if
the line
voltage
drops
below
allowable
limits.
6 INTEN
Controls
the brightness
of
the crt
display.

ASTIG
Screwdriver
adjustment
used in
conjunction
with the
FOCUS
control
to
initially
obtain
a well
defined
display.
Once set,
usually
requires
little
or no
adjustment.

FOCUS
Adjusts for
a
well
defined
display
during
normal
operation.

TRACE
ROTATION
Screwdriver
adjustment
used
to
align
the
trace
with
horizontal
graticule
line.

CALIBRATOR
Provides
a
one
volt,
one kilohertz,
square wave
output for
setting
probe
compensation
and checking
vertical
gain.

Graticule
Internal
graticule
prevents
parallax
errors.
Rise
and fall
time
measure-
ment
points
are
indicated on
the left
edge,
and near
the
top and
bot-
tom
horizontal
portions
of
the
graticule.

BEAM
FINDER
Locates
an off
screen
display. When
pushed,
a
compressed
display
is
visible
within
the
graticule
area.
This
display is
independent
of
posi-
tion controls,
intensity
setting,
or applied
signals.

SCALE
ILLUM
Controls
graticule
illumination.

VERT
MODE
Selects
the
operating mode
for the
vertical
deflection
system.
CH 1
: Displays
only
signals
applied
to the CH
1 input
connector.
ALT: Signals
applied
to CH
1 and CH
2 input
connectors
are alter-
nately
displayed.
The
alternation
occurs
during retrace
at
the
end
of
each
sweep. Useful
at sweep rates
of
0.5
milliseconds/division
or
faster.
The display
begins
to
flicker
at rates
slower
than 0.5
milli-
seconds/division;
therefore,
the CHOP
mode
should be
used
at these
rates.
ADD:
Displays
the algebraic
sum
of the
signals
applied
to the
CH
1 and
CH 2 input
connectors.
CHOP:
Signals applied
to
CH
1 and CH 2 input connectors are
altern-
ately displayed
at a
fixed rate of
about 250 kilohertz. Useful
at sweep
rates of 0.5 milliseconds/division
or
slower.
At rates above 0.5 milli-
seconds/division the
chopped segments become visible; therefore,
the
ALT mode should be used.
