‒ Skin injuries (e.g. pressure ulcer)

17. Before training
Risk of injury due to insufficient preparation!
Disinfect the THERA-Trainer before every training session (see chapter 19.3).
Make sure that foot rests or adapters for upper body training and the corresponding upper body training
accessories click properly into place.
Make sure that the range of motion is appropriate for the patient.
Make sure that foot rests or upper body exerciser accessories are moving freely.
Risk of injury due to tipping over or slipping!
Place the THERA-Trainer on a level, firm and non-slip surface.
Make sure parking brakes are locked correctly.
Position the THERA-Trainer so that the power plug is easily accessible and can be pulled out of the socket
quickly in case of emergency.
Risk of injury from jewellery, accessories or hair!
During training:
Do not wear jewellery or other accessories while exercising.
Tie back hair if longer than shoulder-length.
Risk of injury due to inadequate securing!
Secure feet with velcro tape or use other options to secure feet.
o There is a risk of crushing between the foot rest and the crank disc during training if the feet are
inadequately secured.
Secure weak/paralysed hand using optional wristbands for therapy grips.
If necessary, use other options to secure the arms.
Risk of injury due to pressure-sensitive areas of skins.
Make sure that pressure-sensitive areas of the skin are adequately padded or protected (e.g. by footwear,
padding in foot rests).
