1.6. Specialised staff
‒ Persons who gained their skills and expertise by means of professional training in the medical or medical-
technical sector (e.g. doctors, therapists).
‒ Persons who due to their professional experience and by means of instruction/training by the manufacturer
are able to assess safety-relevant regulations and recognise potential risks in their field of work (e.g. assistants).
‒ Operates the software and makes settings.
‒ Persons trained by the manufacturer (e.g. sales partners of the manufacturer) are able to instruct others
on how to use the system.
1.7. Supervision
‒ The training session is supervised by trained specialists.
‒ Training under supervision:
o
Trained specialists are with the patient during training.
o
Trained specialist can react immediately to dangerous situations during training.
o
Training with the THERA-Trainer should only be carried out under supervision, if:
1. T.assist (assistance system) is not available or defective.
2. Patient emergency stop is not installed.
3. Patient emergency stop and/or bed bell cannot be reached by the patient at all times.
‒ Training without supervision:
o
Trained specialist is in the room (not directly with the patient) during training.
o
Training with the THERA-Trainer should only be carried out without supervision, if:
1. T.assist (assistance system) is available and operational.
2. Patient emergency stop is installed.
3. Patient emergency stop and/or bed bell can be reached by the patient at all times.
1.8. Active/passive training
Active training
‒ The patient uses his own muscle power.
Passive training
‒ The THERA-Trainer moves the patient.
o
Patients do not use their own muscle power.
‒ When switched on, the THERA-Trainer will always start with passive exercise at the set number of revolutions.
Assistive training
‒ A combination of active and passive exercise.
‒ By actively moving the patient in the same direction, the THERA-Trainer will automatically switch to active
exercise.
‒ If the muscle power is not sufficient, the motor automatically supports and compensates for missing activities
to ensure harmonic rotation.
Patients decide on the form of exercise based on their own activity. No additional settings need to be made
for this. The trainer automatically ensures harmonic rotation. The “T.drive” supporting technology of the
THERA-Trainer improves low muscular strength/activities.
