MAINTENANCE
5. After adjustment, secure the adjusting screw [1] and
loosely tighten the lock nut [2].
6. Recheck the valve clearances using a feeler gauge
[3], and tighten the valve adjusting lock nut to the
specified torque.
7. After adjusting the intake and exhaust valve
clearance of the No. 1 cylinder, turn the crankshaft
pulley clockwise and align the No. 4 TDC marks [4]
on the timing belt driven pulleys [5] with the marks
[6] on the timing belt back covers [7].
In this position, No. 4 piston is at TDC of its
compression stroke. With the engine in this position,
adjust the intake and exhaust valve clearance of the
No. 4 cylinder.
8. After adjusting the intake and exhaust valve
clearances of the No. 4 cylinder, adjust the intake
and exhaust valve clearance of the No. 2, No. 5, No.
3, and No. 6 cylinders in this order using the same
procedures from steps 2 through 6.
SPARK PLUG INSPECTION
Remove the engine cover.
Remove the plug maintenance cover (page 6-4).
Disconnect the 3P connector [1] from the direct ignition
coil [2].
Remove the bolt/washers [3] and direct ignition coils.
Take care not to impact or drop the direct ignition coils.
Replace the direct ignition coil if dropped.
TORQUE: 20 N·m (2.0 kgf·m, 15 lbf·ft)
