      Gary MoralesAug 2, 2025
If your TOHATSU Outboard Motor engine doesn't start, several issues could be the cause. It could be due to a clogged or damaged fuel tube, a closed fuel tank vent knob, a faulty primer bulb, a clogged fuel strainer (low pressure side), a clogged water separator, a faulty fuel pump (low pressure side), a clogged vapor separator air vent tube or filter, or a faulty vapor separator. Also, you can perform fuse/electrical power system troubleshooting, alert system/warning system troubleshooting and starting system troubleshooting.

      Kimberly TorresAug 11, 2025
If your TOHATSU Outboard Motor engine starts but stalls soon after, it might be due to an incorrect spark plug heat range, a loose IAC valve and/or throttle body mounting bolt, a clogged or damaged fuel tube, a clogged fuel strainer (low pressure side), or a faulty fuel pump (high pressure side). You can also perform alert system/warning system troubleshooting and adjust the idle adjusting screw.

What to do if the MIL and warning buzzer does not operate on my TOHATSU Outboard Motor?
    • J
      jasonmillsAug 26, 2025
If the MIL and warning buzzer of your TOHATSU Outboard Motor do not operate, the possible solutions include replacing the blown fuse and checking for a short in the main wire harness or incorrect load by referring to the "FUSE LOAD CHART". Other solutions are replacing the ECM or the PGM-FI/main relay with a new one and rechecking. Also, repair any opens in the wire harness between the ECM and engine ground, between the battery and combination switch, or between the ECM and PGM-FI/main relay. A faulty combination switch may also be the cause.
