LUBRICATION SYSTEM
Make sure the oil pressure adapter O-ring [1] is in good
condition. Install and tighten the oil pressure adapter [2]
to the specified torque.
• Over-tightening will damage the threads.
Attach the oil pressure gauge, MT37A [3] to the quick
disconnect, AT77AH [4].
Remove the propeller:
– Standard rotation type (page 16-6)
– Counter rotation type (page 17-5)
Run the outboard in a test tank with the water level at
least 4 inches above the anti-ventilation plate. Allow the
engine to warm up to normal operating temperature,
and then measure the oil pressure.
If the oil pressure is lower than specification, check the
oil pump rotors and oil pump body for wear (page 12-
13).
Remove the special tools.
Replace the sealing washer with a new one, and install
the sealing bolt. Tighten the sealing bolt to the specified
torque.
Install the removed parts in the reverse order of
removal.
