A.Thegearshaftsshouldbefreeofroughsurfacesandexcessivewearat
thebushingpointsandthesealingareas.Scoring,roughsurfacesor
wearonthegearshaftsindicatestheneedforreplacement.
B.Thegearteethshouldbefreeofexcessivescoringandwear.Any
brokenornickedgearteethmustbereplaced.
C.Inspectthegearfaceedgeforsharpness.Sharpedgesonthegearswill
damagethewearplatesandshouldbereplaced.
4.4.Inspectthewearplatesforthefollowing:
A.Thebearingareasshouldnothaveexcessivewearorscoring.
B.Thefaceofthewearplatesthatareincontactwiththegearsshouldbe
freeofwear,roughnessorscoring.
C.Thethicknessofthewearplatesshouldbeequal.
5.Inspectthefrontangeandtherearcoverfordamageorwear.
6.Iftheinternalpartsarefoundtobewornordamaged,replacingthereel
motorisnecessary.
