4.Install40GPMtester(owandpressure)inseriesbetweendisconnected
hoseandmanifoldttingtoallowowfrompiston(traction)pumptotester.
Usehydraulichosekit(seeSpecialTools(page2–15))toconnecttesterto
machine.Makesurethatttingandhoseconnectionsareproperlytightened.
Also,makesuretheowcontrolvalveontesterisfullyopen.
5.Afterinstallingtester,startengineandrunatlowidlespeed.Checkfor
hydraulicleakageattesterconnectionsandcorrectbeforeproceedingwith
test.
6.SlowlyincreaseenginespeedwhileusingtheInfo-CenterDisplaytoadjust
enginespeedto2200RPM(NOTnormalhighidlespeed).
7.Withenginerunningat2200RPM,disengagetheparkingbrake,selecthigh
range(transport)operationandslowlypushtractionpedaltofullyforward
position.Keeppedalfullydepressedinthefullyforwardposition.
8.Havesecondpersonwatchpressuregaugeontestercarefullywhileslowly
closingtheowcontrolvalveuntil69bar(1000PSI)isobtained.Verifywith
theInfoCenterdisplaythattheenginespeedisstill2200RPM.
Note:Ifenginespeeddropsduringtesting,pumpowwilldecreaseand
owtestresultswillbeinaccurate.
9.Observeowgauge.Flowindicationshouldbeapproximately142LPM
(37.5GPM).
10.Oncepistonpumpowisidentied,releasetractionpedaltotheneutral
position,openowcontrolvalveontester,lowerenginespeedtolowidleand
shutoffengine.Recordtestresults.
11.Ifowislessthan127LPM(33.6GPM),considerthefollowing:
A.Thetractionpedalisnotcalibratedcorrectly(seeTractionPedalPosition
SensorCalibration(page6–51)).
B.Thepistonpumpswashplateisnotbeingrotatedfully(e.g.traction
speedisnotsetto100%).
C.Theforwardtractionreliefvalveisleakingorfaulty.
D.Thepistonpumpneedstoberepairedorreplacedasnecessary.
12.Makenecessaryrepairsbeforeperforminganyadditionaltractioncircuittests.
13.Whentestingiscomplete,disconnecttesterfrommanifoldttingandmachine
hydraulichose.Reconnecthosetomanifoldtting.Lowermachinetoground.
14.Makesurethatthehydraulictankisfullbeforereturningmachinetooperation.
