operate.
Thereareanumberoffactorsthatcancontributetounsatisfactoryqualityofcut,
someofwhichmaybeturfconditions.Turfconditionssuchasexcessivethatch,
unevengroundconditions,“sponginess”orattemptingtocutofftoomuchgrass
heightmaynotalwaysbeovercomebyadjustingthemachine.
Rememberthatthe“effective”oractualheight−of−cutdependsoncuttingunit
weight,tirepressures,hydrauliccounterbalancesettingsandturfconditions.
Effectiveheight−of−cutwillbedifferentthanthebenchsetheight−of−cut.

Sharpenbladesiftheircuttingedgesaredullornicked.
Inspectbladesailforwearordamage.Replacebladeifneeded.
MowerhousingconditionMakesurethatcuttingchambersareingoodcondition.
Keepundersideofdeckclean.Debrisbuildupwillreducecutting
performanceandclippingdispersion.
Height−of−cutMakesurealldeckheight−of−cutadjustments(includingcastorwheel,
frontdeckroller,andskidmountinglocations)arethesame.
Adjustdeck(seeOperator’sManual).
CuttingunitpitchAllcuttingdecksshouldbetippedslightlyforwardforoptimal
performance.Adjustthefrontandsidecuttingdeckpitchasspecied
intheOperator’sManual.
FrontwingletdeckleveltofrontcenterdeckThebladesofthefrontwingletdecksshouldbeleveltothebladesof
thefrontcenterdeck.Levelthefrontwingletdecksasspeciedinthe
Operator’sManual.
CuttingdeckalignmentandgroundfollowingCheckliftarmsandcuttingdeckpivotpinsforwear,damageorbinding.
Ensurealldeckliftarmpivotsarelubricatedandmoveeasilytoallow
counterbalancetofunctioncorrectly.
Rollerandcastorwheelcondition
Allrollersandcasterwheelsshouldrotatefreely.Replacebearingsif
wornordamaged.
GrassconditionsMowwhengrassisdry.Removeonly25.4mm(1in)or1/3ofthe
grassbladewhencutting.
GroundspeedMowingtoofastcanreducecuttingperformance.Ifstragglersare
present,reducegroundspeedorlet”SmartPower”featurecontrol
groundspeed.
