Themachineincludesabattery−disconnectswitchlocatedunderthehood
intherightrearcorneroftheenginecompartment(Figure203).Turningthe
batterydisconnectswitchtotheOFFpositionopensthe12Voltand24Volt
batterygroundcircuit.ThebatterydisconnectswitchshouldbesettoOFFwhen
servicingthemachine.TheswitchcanbelockedintheONorOFFpositionif
desired.
CAUTION
DoNotturnthebattery−disconnectswitchtotheOFFposition
whiletheengineisrunning.Thebattery−disconnectswitchisnot
anemergencyshutoff.IfthebatterydisconnectswitchissettoOFF
whiletheengineisrunning,theenginewillcontinuetorunonthe
powersuppliedbythe12Voltalternatorandyoumaycausedamage
toelectricalcomponentsincludingtheToroElectronicControllers
(TECs).
Testing
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecksandstopengine.
Removekeyfromkeyswitch.
2.Raisethehoodarmtogainaccesstotheswitch.
