GeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingHydraulicSystem
Components
BeforeRepairorReplacementofComponents
1.Beforeremovinganypartsfromthehydraulicsystem,parkmachineona
levelsurface,lowercuttingdecksfully,disengagePTOandstopengine.
Removekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Readandbefamiliarwithallprocedurestepsbeforestartingtoremove,
repair,replaceorinstallhydraulicsystemcomponents.
3.Cleanmachinebeforedisconnecting,removingordisassemblingany
hydrauliccomponents.Makesurehydrauliccomponents,hosesconnections
andttingsarecleanedthoroughly.Alwayskeepinmindtheneedfor
cleanlinesswhenworkingonhydraulicequipment.
CAUTION
Operateallhydrauliccontrolstorelievesystempressureandavoid
injuryfrompressurizedhydraulicoil.Controlsmustbeoperatedwith
thekeyswitchinRUNandtheengineOFF .Makesureallelectrically
operatedcontrolvalvesareactuated.ReturnkeyswitchtoOFFafter
pressurehasbeenrelieved.Removekeyfromthekeyswitch.
4.Putcapsorplugsonanyhydrauliclines,hydraulicttingsorcomponentsleft
openorexposedtopreventhydraulicsystemcontamination.
5.Putlabelsondisconnectedhydrauliclinesandhosesforproperinstallation
afterrepairsarecompleted.
6.Notethepositionofhydraulicttings(especiallyelbowttings)onhydraulic
componentsbeforeremoval.Markpartsifnecessarytomakesuretheywill
bealignedproperlywhenreinstallinghydraulichosesandtubes.
AfterRepairorReplacementofComponents
1.Checkoillevelinthehydraulicreservoirandaddcorrectoilifnecessary.
Drainandrellhydraulicsystemreservoirandchangeoillterifcomponent
failurewassevereorsystemiscontaminated(seeFlushHydraulicSystem
(page5–77)).
IMPORTANT
Followalllocalcodesandregulationswhenrecyclingordisposing
hydraulicuidandlters.
2.LubricateO−ringsandsealswithcleanhydraulicoilbeforeinstallinghydraulic
components.
3.Makesureallcapsorplugsareremovedfromhydraulictubes,hydraulic
ttingsandcomponentsbeforereconnecting.
4.Usepropertighteningmethodswheninstallinghydraulichosesandttings
(seeInstallingHydraulicHosesandTubes(O-RingFaceSeal)(page5–7)).
5.Afterrepairs,checkcontrollinkagesorcablesforproperadjustment,binding
orbrokenparts.
