Servicing the Fuel Filter
Draining Water from the Fuel Filter

If the Water in Fuel Light comes on stop the engine and
drain the water from the fuel lter.
1. Disengage the PTO, move the motion control levers
to the neutral locked postion and set the parking
brake.
2. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Allow the machine to cool down.
5. Place a drain pan under the fuel lter and loosen the
drain plug 1 turn (Fig. 333).
6. Let the water drain. If necessary, operate the priming
pump to drain water, but only until fuel ows from the
lter (Fig. 334).

7. Tighten the drain plug when fuel begins to ow.
8. Bleed the air from the fuel line by priming the fuel
system. Refer to Priming the Fuel System, page
5-34.
