9. Install the belt covers and close the latches (Fig.
536).

8. Install the tension spring on the idler arm (Fig. 535).

Replacing Mower Drive Belts
Note: Remove the mower spindle belt rst. If any of
the primary drive belts need to be replaced,
see Replacing the Mower Spindle Belt, page
7-39.
1. Disengage the PTO, move the motion control levers
to the neutral locked position and set the parking
brake.
2. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all
moving parts to stop before leaving the operating
position.
3. Loosen the 4 bolts holding the rear bumper
assembly and remove from the unit (Fig. 537).
