Verathon Service Partner Manual: Reference Documentation
7. Maintain the string phantom as follows:
Ensure that there is sufficient water in the calibration tank that the domed portion of the probe is
completely submerged when testing.
Keep the calibration tank lid in place to avoid contamination. Empty, clean, and refill the string
phantom kit once every three months or sooner if either debris or matter becomes visible.
If desired, add a teaspoon of algaecide to the water monthly in order to maintain the clarity of the
water.
Avoid touching the strings if at all possible; this may cause damage.
Inspect the strings on a regular basis for any debris or contamination caused by impurities in the
water. As needed, replace the water in the calibration tank.
In order to function properly, the phantom must be restrung when strings break or show signs of
wear.
