PROCEdURE 13. SERVICE THE PRINTER
This procedure contains instructions for completing the following tasks:
• Clearing a severe paper jam
• Cleaning the print head and printer roller
• Replacing the printer cable
• Replacing the printer
If the printer is producing irregular printouts, clean the print head and roller prior to replacing any parts. If
cleaning the print head does not resolve the service issue, then replace the printer cable. If cleaning the print
head and replacing the printer cable does not resolve the issue, replace the printer.

AR — Isopropyl alcohol, 70% or higher
REMOVE THE PRINTER
1. Complete the procedure Disassemble the Console on page32.
2. Lift the printer out of the top cover. Ensure that the printer cables do not get caught in the top cover.
3. If you are clearing a severe paper jam, continue to Step4.
If you are cleaning the print head or replacing the printer cable, skip to Step5.
If you are replacing the printer, skip to Step15.
CLEAR A SEVERE PAPER JAM
4. If you need to clear a severe paper jam, as you complete Step5 through Step14, attempt to remove the
jammed paper. Once the paper has been removed, you do not need to continue disassembly; proceed
directly to the appropriate reassembly steps.
