Hydraulic System – Checking pressure lines for leaks
Important safety instructions regarding pressure line checks
Burn and injury hazard due to hot hydraulic oil escaping under high
pressure!
Hydraulic oil escaping under high pressure can catch fire, damage
property, penetrate the skin, and cause serious burns.
► Do not operate the machine with leaking or damaged hydraulic system
components.
► Never search for leaks with your bare hands, wear protective gloves
and clothes.
► Wear safety glasses to protect the eyes. If oil contacts the eye, flush
immediately with clean water and seek emergency medical treatment.
► Seek immediate medical attention if oil penetrates the skin.
Oil can cause serious infections.
► Never weld or solder defective or leaky pressure hoses.
► Re-tighten leaking screw connections and hose connections only when
the hydraulic system is not under pressure. In other words, release the
pressure before working on pressurized lines.
► Do not check for leaks with an open flame due to explosive fire risk
from vaporized oil mist.
