REPLACING THE AIR FILTER ELEMENT
1.
Remove:
8front cover
8side cover(left)
Refer to”SIDE COVERS AND TAIL/
BRAKE LIGHT”.
2.
Remove:
8air filter case cover1
8air filter element
3. Check:
8 air filter element©
Damage/dirty^ Replace.
NOTE:
8
Replace the air filter element every
4000km(2000mi) .
8 The air filter needs more frequent service if
you are riding in unusually wet or dusty ar-
eas.
4.
Install:
8 air filter element
8 air filter case cover

Never operate the engine without the air
filter element installed. Unfiltered air will
cause rapid wear of engine parts and may
damage the engine. Operating the engine
without the air filter element will also affect
the throttle body tuning, leading to poor
engine performance and possible
overheating.
NOTE:
When installing the air filter element into the air
filter case cover, make sure their sealing sur-
faces are aligned to prevent any air leaks.
