  Configuration Files 
Phone User Interface 
An administrator or a user can configure and use Skype for Business phones via phone user 
interface. Access to specific features is restricted to the administrator. The default password is 
“admin“(case-sensitive). Not all features are available on phone user interface. For more

Web User Interface 
An administrator or a user can configure Skype for Business phones via web user interface. The 
default user name and password for the administrator to log into the web user interface are 
both “admin” (case-sensitive). Most features are available for configuring via web user interface. 
Skype for Business phones support both HTTP and HTTPS protocols for accessing the web user 
interface. For more information, refer to Web Server Type on page 95. 
Configuration Files 
An administrator can deploy and maintain a mass of Skype for Business phones using 
configuration files. The configuration files consist of: 
  Common CFG file 
  MAC-Oriented CFG file 
Common CFG file 
A Common CFG file contains parameters that affect the basic operation of the Skype for 
Business phone, such as language and volume. It will be effectual for all Skype for Business 
phones of the same model. The common CFG file has a fixed name for each Skype for Business 
phone model. The name of the Common CFG file for each Skype for Business phone model is:
