3. PREPARING THE OPERATING PLATFORM
The 3DGence INDUSTRY F340 printer is tted with a ceramic working table. This solution guarantees good adhesion of
the rst print layer and facilitates removing the model when the print process is completed.
After transportation, the table surface can be covered with residual amount of greases or dust, and it should be cleaned.
The procedure of cleaning the printing bed is described in Operating the device chapter, subsection 5.2.
CAUTION: cleaning solvent containers are provided with work safety instructions. They should be unconditionally observed
– vapors can be harmful. Pay attention to ventilation.
3.1. Calibrating the working area
The 3DGence INDUSTRY F340 printer is tted with an extremely sensitive working table calibration system that facilitates
operating the device. Below there is a description of the procedure which needs to be implemented in order to calibrate the
printer working table correctly. The printer was calibrated before the transportation, however the transportation could have
resulted in loosing the calibration. Therefore, it is recommended to take the following steps to avoid any problems with the
rst print.
The procedure of bed calibration looks always the same. It is not necessary to perform calibration prior to each print, it can be
performed once per several dozens of hours printing or when some problems with the rst layer adhesion are encountered.
To perform the calibration, take the following steps:
1. Check if the power cables/cord and printer cables are not worn or damaged. Check if toothed belts are not damaged
or worn. Check if Z axis stop (Figure 28) is not bent, damaged or broken and if it is aligned with the Z axis endstop notch.
2. If there is a lament inside the head, remove it (see „Filament removal”), and then cool the head down to the temper-
ature below 50°C.
3. Remove all contamination and material remains from the T0 head nozzle and from the table by using a putty knife (not
needed before the initial start).
4. From the level of printer MENU, from „Prepare” submenu choose the “Home All” option conrming the selection by
pressing „OK” button. At that moment all axes should be restored back to their home positions.
CAUTION: pay attention to the movement of all axes. When Z axis gets to the endstop and stops, check the distance be-
tween the nozzle and the table. The distance should range from 0.8 to 1.5 mm, a higher distance can result in interrupting
table scanning and displaying the error „Heat bed scan aborted” if the distance exceeds 1.5 mm, it should be adjusted by
hand. To do this loosen the adjustment screw (g. 25) and adjust the distance manually. Lifting the stop will increase the
distance between the nozzle and the table, while lowering it will result in getting the nozzle closer to the working table.
When the adjustment is completed, tighten lightly the adjustment screw and check the position of the nozzle by using the
„Home Z” command, available in Manual Controls menu.
5. From printer menu choose Calibration, and then Heat Bed Scan. This is the moment when the process of table scanning starts.
6. Wait until the scanning process is completed – it takes about 15–25 minutes. Once the scanning is completed, the dis-
play shows the following message: HEAT BED SCAN COMPLETED. Printer bed was calibrated successfully and the device
is ready for further operation.
