QS871A Remote Distribution Monitor and Control Module
Overview
Although the Pulsar Edge has the ability to directly control and manage a single LVD contactor without
additional hardware. It can manage additional LVDs and distributions through the use of remote
distribution monitor and control modules like the QS871. The QS871A (CC109103371) allows the Pulsar
Edge controller to obtain distribution data and manage a non-latching contactor through serial
communications over the RS485 bus. The system controller monitors alarms for open load or battery
protectors, measures load or battery shunts, monitors the bus voltage, and controls and monitors a
single load or battery LVD contactor. Figure 25 shows the connections and interfaces for the QS871A.
